CoolSculpting is being talked about everywhere. Especially during this time of New Year’s resolutions. The non-invasive treatment freezes fat cells at extremely low temperatures so that they eventually die within two to three months after the treatment. The Spa on Rodeo specializes in Beverly Hills CoolSculpting. While this sounds like the perfect way to a brand new body, others are left with many questions, plastic surgeon, Jason Roostaeian, weighs in and answers all of your questions.
How does it work?
CoolSculptng treatments use cooling panels to freeze your fat cells. The patient may feel some discomfort and numbness due to the temperatures, but otherwise most individuals don’t feel much of anything.
Who is it for?
CoolSculpting is for someone looking to get rid of stubborn fat for moderate improvements. CoolSculpting is not for anyone who is trying to lose a major amount of fat.
What are the results?
To receive the best results, more than one treatment is recommended. Some may not be able to see a major change in their body after the first procedure, but results are improved with further treatments.
Can you lose weight through CoolSculpting?
The CoolSculpting device doesn’t necessarily shed pounds but inches instead. Up to 25% of the fat reduction in a treatment area can be shed but that may not add up to a large amount of pounds on the scale. Some clients may lose one or two sizes in clothing, however.
Is it permanent?
The effects of the CoolSculpting procedure is permanent only if you are able to maintain your weight. If weight is gained, it may be gained back in a previous treatment area.
How far in advance should you book an appointment?
Results are not visible for at least four weeks. Fat loss reaches its peak about eight weeks afterward and by twelve weeks your skin smooths out. Your goal may change when you should book your appointment.
Is it safe?
This procedure is noninvasive so the risks are minimal. A potential complication may occur with your numbed nerves. S ome may feel as though the treatment area has fallen asleep for weeks, but swelling is minimal. Discuss any further risks with your doctor.
