Everyone has a different skin type and each type comes with its own set of negative and positive attributes. Whichever skin type you may have, we want your skin to look and feel its best; which is why we’re sharing the different skin types and how to treat them with all of you!
“Normal” Skin
About: Normal skin is defined as being smooth and unlikely to be plagued by breakouts. Lucky you! Although you may naturally have good skin, that doesn’t mean you can be lackluster in your skin care regimen.
Treatment: Since you don’t have to deal with oil or dryness, a gentle cleanser will work best. Always use a moisturizer with a strong SPF to block the harmful exposure that the sun can cause. Treat yourself to a Beverly Hills facial every couple of months to keep your skin healthy and glowing.
Dry & Sensitive Skin
About: Dry or sensitive skin often feels tight and may have discolored spots or fine lines. You may also experience flakey patches on your skin that shed away, similar to the way sunburned skin peels.
Treatment: It is important to keep your skin hydrated and out of the sun. Stay away from heavy, oily products that are likely to irritate the skin. Use products with no dyes or perfumes to rinse and gently scrub clean. If you go for a facial, be sure to inform your masseuse that you have dry or sensitive skin.
Oily Skin or Acne
About: Oily skin is characterized by large pores and shiny spots throughout the face. The upside of oily skin is that it ages better than other skin types. Acne is a common skin problem in people of all ages. The face, neck, back and chest are covered in mild to severe blemishes and breakouts.
Treatment: Vigorous exfoliation and cleansing are necessary depending on the severity of your oily or acne-prone skin. However, don’t get too carried away with harsh products that can irritate the skin. When going for a Beverly Hills facial, the esthetician should focus on lifting impurities and absorbing oil from the skin.
